"Simplistic Black" Android Homescreen

Since I created this blog I have retired the old HTC Hero and bought a Samsung Galaxy S II. This has given me a lot more freedom in customizing the homescreens of the phone.
As many probably know the Galaxy S II comes with Samsung's Touch Wiz 4.0 as standard, which is fine for the common user.
But, if you like me want a little more control over your phones homescreens I suggest you buy ADW.Launcher EX (the free ADW.Launcher is also quite useful though). Some of the many features I like about this launcher is the ability to resize widgets and even make them overlap each other. In the next screenshot I will show how this can be used to make a great setup on your phones homescreen

Applications used
Traffic Monitor: Traffic Counter Pro (paid)
Clock: SiMi Clock Widget (free)
Weather/battery: Beautiful Widgets (paid)
Calendar: Smooth Calendar (free)
Toggler: SwitchPro Widget (paid)
Wallpaper: Nexus Revamped Pro LW (paid)

All widgets use a transparent background and some kind of "white" theme.

The resizing/overlapping feature is used to create the vertical white line. The line is actually part of the SiMi Clock Widget, but when resizing the widget from 4x1 to 3x3 the the line just follows the height of the widget. Normally this wouldn't be possible because of the widgets below the clock, but this is solved by enabling overlapping widgets in ADW.Launcher. Then we can just drag the clock over the weather and calendar widget.

The Smooth Calendar widget has also been resized from 4x1 to 3x1!

To complete the setup on my phone I also added a calendar on a home screen. For this I used Pure Grid calendar widget with a fully transparent theme.

This completes the "Simplistic Black" Android Homescreen Setup!

A widget I haven't mentioned above is Scrollable ContactWidget BETA. This is a contact widget, with the ability to scroll. Besides this, it is also possible to give it a transparent background, which makes it perfect for the above setup. Due to the privacy of my contacts I will not post a screenshot of this.
